During his career, he scored 401 goals, making him one of the top scorers in Polish football history. His biggest achievement was reaching the semi-finals of the European Championship in 1972, where Poland faced Italy. Wlodzimierz Lubanski left Gornik Zabrze in 1977, yet his mark on the club's history remains indelible.
Today, the memory of Lubanski is honored by the club, with one of the stands at Gornik's stadium bearing his name. Each year, youth tournaments are held in honor of this extraordinary figure.
