Górnik Zabrze has decided to withdraw its reserve team from the Betclic 3 Liga. This change is part of the club's long-term strategy aimed at shortening the path of the most talented players from the academy to the first team. In the new model, young players will be more closely integrated with the first team, allowing them to train regularly at the highest sports level. The club noted that the current training facilities do not meet the requirements for running a second team at the appropriate level. Lukas Podolski, the owner of Górnik Zabrze, emphasized that this decision aims to better develop young talents through partner clubs. As part of the new model, Górnik Zabrze plans to expand its network of partner clubs, enabling young players to compete at a high level. Łukasz Milik, the club's sports director, pointed out that the goal remains to prepare academy graduates for appearances in the first team and shorten their path to professional football. The new model will also include individual oversight of players on loan, aimed at monitoring their progress and coordinating their training process.
